What does deaccessioning mean?
Deaccessioning is a museum term to describe removing something from your collection. According to Wikipedia the definition is: "Deaccessioning, the process of disposing, selling or trading objects from a museum collection, is not undertaken lightly in most museums."
I chose the name of this blog as I was leaving graduate school, as I thought of it as deaccessioning myself from the program. Thus far, the blog has described my professional and intellectual journey of trying to better understand what it means to be a highly educated woman in a tough economy. I explore themes of happiness, learning, and creativity through my personal lens when looking at the world.
